Entertainment unit

So we found out that we are getting an early Christmas present this year....a new flat screen TV!! So we found this console unit in a magazine and decided it would be perfect. I still have some walnut left over from the bedroom stuff so I paired it with some birch and here is how it turned out. (I still need to get the hardware on, once Erin decides what she wants.)

The bedroom set is done

I started with the all important bed first and finally just finished the second night stand recently.

Doors

So I have decided after many, many years of having to duck in fear every time I go through a doorway that I will hit my head (I'm 6'7'') that it is time for me to start making my own custom doors and having them 7 feet tall.

We're having a baby

yup you heard it right, we just found out that we are going to be having our first baby. Baby will be due February, 2007 and we couldn't be more excited. I have a feeling my project will take a little more time to complete, but I can't wait to share my shop with my baby!!

Our new Home Flagstaff, Arizona!!

We have found a house in Flagstaff that as Erin puts it has "great potential", which I interpret as a very long honey do list. First up, I started building all the furniture for the master bedroom. I scored some awesome Walnut off an ad in the paper so it's all solid Walnut!!

We are moving to Arizona

We have decided to pick up and move closer to our families on the west coast. Haven't found a new house yet but I am sure we will find a house that we can add our own touches to. It sad that we are leaving this house so soon after getting it the way we liked it but being closer to family is really important to Erin and I.

Downstairs Bathroom

I can't find any pictures of our original downstairs bathroom but I can tell you that we demolished the entire thing and started over from scratch. Here are a few pictures. I don't think I want to do and tiling for a while. The tiling seemed to drag on forever!!

Kitchen project

We had a pretty good kitchen to start with but we were desperate to get rid of the drop ceiling and add some lighting. I added some can lights and remove the existing sofit above the cabinets so Erin could do some decorating. Here are some pictures of the progress.

New ceiling fan.

I built this drop down table, so we could have a place to eat when it is just the two of us, so we don't have to eat in the dining room all the time. Oh and we add our version of a pot rack. Found these rods at Ikea for $5 each and decided to hang them from the ceiling for the pots.

Don't quite know what I was doing in this picture but you get the idea of the table.

I tiled the new backsplash and we got new granite counter tops, which Erin may love more than me!!

All done and decorated!! We think it turned out pretty great!!
